At Hummingbird Hospice, we believe that caring for women’s health means honoring the unique needs, strengths, and challenges that women face—especially during life’s most vulnerable moments. During Women’s Health Week, we are proud to celebrate the resilience of women while also shining a light on the importance of holistic care, both for our patients and the caregivers who support them.

The Heart of Care: Women as Caregivers
Across the nation, women make up the majority of both professional and family caregivers. Whether it’s holding a loved one’s hand in their final days or guiding families through the journey of hospice care, women are often at the heart of these tender moments. We see their compassion every day—in the daughters, wives, sisters, nurses, and hospice aides who give so selflessly.
This week is a reminder to not only recognize their efforts but also to encourage them to prioritize their own health. Self-care is not selfish—it’s essential.
Women in Hospice: Receiving Compassionate, Personalized Care
Hospice care is about honoring the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. For women facing terminal illness, this often includes addressing physical symptoms, emotional well-being, spiritual peace, and family dynamics. Our care teams are trained to understand and support women’s unique experiences, whether they’re navigating breast cancer, heart disease, dementia, or other life-limiting conditions.
We ensure our patients feel seen, heard, and supported in every aspect of their care.
Caring for the Caregivers
This Women’s Health Week, we especially want to encourage the women in caregiving roles to:
• Take time to rest and recharge without guilt
• Schedule regular health checkups and mental health support
• Ask for help—you do not have to do this alone
• Connect with others—community is a powerful healer
Hummingbird Hospice is here for our caregivers too. If you’re supporting a loved one on hospice, we offer emotional support, respite services, and grief counseling to help you care for yourself as you care for others.
Women’s Health Week is more than a celebration—it’s a call to action. Let’s uplift the women who dedicate their lives to caregiving, support women receiving hospice care with dignity and compassion, and advocate for better health for every woman, at every age.
At Hummingbird Hospice, we’re committed to walking alongside you—because your health, your story, and your care matter.
